Formation in faith and morals is the primary reason for the existence of Our Lady of Guadalupe School. The focus of the spiritual formation of the students of OLG centers on developing their Catholic identity and living out their faith in Christ through the love of God and thy neighbor.
Instruction in all grade levels teaches the tenets of the Catholic faith and the nature of rituals, and symbols of the liturgy leading to their full participation in Mass. Our students are prepared to become full members of the Body of Christ by participating in the Sacraments of Reconciliation, in the second grade, and in First Holy Communion, in the third grade. Furthermore, OLG students continue to live a sacramental life of faith by their participation in the weekly liturgy, prayer services, Stations of the Cross, and monthly family Mass. Lastly, students are afforded the opportunity to serve as lectors, altar servers, ushers and choir members.
School-Wide Learning Expectations (SLEs)
The SLEs are what we expect our students to accomplish throughout their time at Our Lady of Guadalupe School. With input from students, teachers, and parents, the following SLEs were created to reflect our current student population.
